Heavy Unit is an exciting retro side-scrolling shoot-em-up arcade game released on December 22, 1989. Set in the futuristic year of 2013, the game places players on "Le Tau," a human-built artificial star and planet under siege by genetically modified alien creatures. Players pilot a "Heavy Unit," a powerful transforming mecha, to fend off the alien threats and defend the human colony. Power-ups include S for unlimited Speed Up, P for increased firepower, B for a protective Shield Unit, T for transforming between ship and robot modes, and E for an Extra Life.
